BMS Pre-Games Training Camp for London 2012
Bedford Modern School is delighted to have been approved as a Pre-Games Training Camp for the London 2012 Olympics for the sport of Table-Tennis.
BOOST (Bedfordshire and Luton Olympic Opportunities Support Team) made 14 sport facility submissions to the organisers of the London 2012 Olympics. From these submissions 8 facilities are to be included in the Guide of Pre-Games Training Camps, which will be distributed to all National Olympic Committees at the Beijing Games.
Patrick Jerram, BMS Director of Sport said "We are delighted to have been chosen as a Pre-Games Training Camp for Table-Tennis for London 2012. I still remember vividly how the whole school erupted when it was announced that Great Britain had won the right to host the Olympics back in July 2005. The 2012 Games will, I am sure, inspire and capture our imagination and it is fantastic we can be directly involved by offering our excellent facilities. I must also thank and congratulate the Bedfordshire and Luton Olympic Opportunities Support Team (BOOST) who co-ordinated the local consortium bid"
