Schools

The Bedford Charity (The Harpur Trust) is the legal entity under which Bedford School, Bedford High School for Girls , Bedford Modern School and Dame Alice Harpur School operate. All four schools provide selective education for a total of over 4,000 children in the age range 7 - 18 years.

In addition, the Trustees of the Bedford Charity nominate the directors of Harpur Pre-Preparatory Schools Limited, a charitable company limited by guarantee, under which Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School operates. This school provides quality care and education for children aged from 3 months to 8 years.

The Charity employs over 1,200 staff in the Bedford area.
