Who decides if I can get help with school fees?
The final decision on who and how many children will receive help with school fees is made by trustees at their school committee award meetings. Decisions will be based on a child’s academic ability, the family’s financial situation and also the number of applications received for that academic year.
Families normally receive letters from their chosen school offering a place for their child and also informing them whether they will/will not receive a provisional offer of help with school fees in February. For full details of the application timetable click here.
Please note: We cannot guarantee that every family who applies for help with school fees will receive financial support even if they are eligible for help and their child passes the academic assessment, as we may receive more applications than we can support with the available funding. We therefore strongly recommend that in addition to applying for an assisted place at a Harpur Trust school you also continue with your applications for other schools (e.g. local maintained catchment school or other independent schools).
