Asset allocation
In 1997, in accordance with professional advice, the Trustees resolved to undertake a diversification of the Charities income earning permanent endowment assets away from its traditional dependence on property situated in the Holborn area of London, the site of the original bequest of land from William Harpur.
Two major sales of property ensued with the result that, from a property holding of over 95% of the value of the endowment, the percentage of property held at 30 June 2002 had been reduced to 59%.
Trustees review the asset allocation annually, and at the last review in November 2002, concluded that no further adjustment was desirable at that stage.
