The Bedford Charity

We are a local charity making grants within the Borough of Bedford. We also have four schools and two almshouse schemes.

Grants Programme

Through our grants programme we work with the local community, and a range of voluntary and public sector partners to improve the quality of life for residents of the Borough. Find out more about our grant giving and how to apply for a grant.

Almshouses

Our two almshouse schemes in Bedford and Bromham provide secure and affordable accommodation for older people.

Schools

The four Harpur Trust schools are also part of the Bedford Charity family.

Bedford High School and Bedford School are single sex, day and boarding schools offering both IB and A'Level. Dame Alice Harpur School is a single sex day school, and Bedford Modern School is a day school offering co-education.

We have set up Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School for children aged 3 months to 7 years.
